We are thrilled to announce the success of our first annual Ramadan Iftar! With the support of our community, we raised almost $5,000 with net ticket sales, auction proceeds, and donations throughout the evening. That was almost a third of our Ramadan fundraiser goal raised in one night. This event was a celebration of community and generosity, and we are grateful to have been a part of it.
The night began with breaking our fasts and Maghreb prayer. After that, we returned to the reception area to enjoy a delicious iftar meal and a beautiful Islamic reflection was given by Hamzah Raza. Afterwards, two of our NubiYouth board members, Rania and Linda, gave a brief presentation about our Ramadan fundraiser and each initiative we raised money for. It was a great opportunity for attendees to learn more about the specific causes we are passionate about and how their donations will make a difference. One of the highlights of the evening was the auction hosted by Mohamed Khaled. We had several Nubian owned and made items up for bid, and the energy in the room was electric as everyone joined in a competitive and fun bidding war. Some of the items included clothing by Nubian-owned brands Hikmah Clothing and 4HUSTLERS2WIN, treats made by Dals Did That, a Nubian bukhoor kit, and much more. We are grateful for everyone who participated and helped us raise even more funds for our important initiatives.
We want to extend a special thank you to everyone who came out, donated, and supported us in any way. It is because of your generosity and kindness that we are able to make a difference in the lives of those in need. We are full of gratitude and look forward to continuing to serve our community through initiatives like this one. Stay tuned for more events and updates from NubiYouth!
